In 100 days, the Twilight 10k Road Races will sweep through the streets of Ipswich on a fast, flat route, starting and finishing at Suffolk New College with the aim of beating the sunset!

Building on the success of previous years, this year’s Twilight Races have been split into two events, with the mass-participation 10k race happening on Friday 3 August and the 5k races with an afternoon of athletics on the Waterfront taking place on Saturday 12 May.

The 5k race has been expanded into a full afternoon of racing and athletics on Ipswich Waterfront, including a Daily Mile for schoolchildren, a Most Active County 2k family run and three 5k runs for varying abilities – you can read more about the 5k here.

The 10k race takes runners through the historic centre of Ipswich and past famous landmarks such as the Willis Building and Portman Road football stadium. The race starts at 7pm, giving runners a little under 90 minutes before the sun sets. There are prizes up for grabs for the winners, including first, second and third male and female, in addition to prizes for age categories and affiliated teams.

Inspire Suffolk will be returning as the charity partner for the race for the third year running and will be on-hand to provide support on the race day, along with some fun activities for all the family.

Last year the races attracted more than 1,700 runners, making Twilight now one of the most popular events in the Suffolk running calendar. The race is filling up fast but there’s still time to register for the 10k event by clicking here.

We hope to see you there!
