Ensors becomes the first official t-shirt sponsor of the Ipswich Building Society Twilight Road Races

Ensors, Chartered Accountants, has become the first official t-shirt sponsor of the Ipswich Building Society Twilight Road Races. Every participant who finishes the 10k or 5k run will be given a performance t-shirt incorporating the latest reflective technology designed to help keep runners safe after dark. The Ipswich Building Society Twilight 10k & 5k Road Races are organised by the Ipswich JAFFA Running Club in association with Ipswich Borough Council and Suffolk New College. This year’s event is in aid of Inspire Suffolk, a locally based organisation which uses education and sport as a way of making a difference to the lives of people living in and around Suffolk. These will take place on Friday 5th August from 7pm, with entries now open.

This is the second year the Ipswich Building Society Twilight Road Races have taken place and consists of two races on a flat town centre course. The 5k race is aimed at runners who can complete the course within 20 minutes (men) and 22 minutes (women), with cash prizes for top athletes. The 10k mass participation run to beat the sunset is a whistle-stop tour of Ipswich’s iconic buildings and is open to runners of all levels of abilities.

Races will start and finish outside Suffolk New College on Rope Walk, with participants taking in many of Ipswich’s iconic buildings such as the Willis building, Cornhill, Ancient House and Giles Circus to name but a few.

Fiona Hotston Moore, partner at Ensors Chartered Accountants, commented: “After the success of last year’s event we wanted to get on board with Ipswich Building Society and the Ipswich JAFFA Running Club to help make this year’s race just as great, if not better. Our staff have really got behind this event with entrants from our Ipswich, Saxmundham, Bury & Cambridge offices.  Many of them are in training already and keeping us all up-to-date with progress using #run2inspireipswich.”

Paul Winter, CEO of Ipswich Building Society, commented: “The Twilight Road Races bring the whole community together in aid of a good cause and showcase the best spots around Ipswich.  The t-shirts will not only add an extra incentive for participants to make it past the finish line but will help runners stay safe when out after dark.”
